<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 15px;"><span style="font-size: 20px;"><strong>Friends,</strong></span><br /><br />
Traveling the country over the past couple of years, I have been amazed
-- and heartened -- by the response I, and more importantly, the ideas
of smaller government and greater freedom receive on college campuses.<br /><br /><strong>Young
people get it. The $16 trillion (and growing) debt our government has
racked up will land on their shoulders. The individual liberties
destroyed by laws like the Patriot Act and NDAA are their liberties.
And the consequences of decades of foreign intervention will fall on
their generation.</strong><br /><br />
A large part of the success of the Our America Initiative and the
larger effort to mobilize Americans who share our principles will be
reaching out to these young people and giving them a role in the liberty
movement. <strong>To that end, on April 1, we are kicking off the first phase of our “Live Free” campus tour.</strong>
Throughout April, the tour will take us to campuses from Ohio to New
Mexico. The full schedule is below -- or can be accessed here: <a href="http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=52286984&msgid=239940&act=5PL7&c=800080&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fgovgaryjohnson%2Fevents" style="color: #0000ff!important;" target="_blank">Facebook.com/GovGaryJohnson</a><br /><br />
The time has come. <strong> This week, we saw a handful of Senators
hold up the confirmation of the CIA Director until they received some
small measure of clarification from the Attorney General that it is NOT
acceptable to let the President assassinate American citizens with no
due process. </strong>It is truly disturbing that such clarification was
even necessary, and even more alarming that it took a filibuster in the
U.S. Senate to get it. Nevertheless, for a couple of days, even the
mainstream media had no choice but to acknowledge such a fundamental
issue.<br /><br /><strong>I am proud that thousands of our followers on Facebook and Twitter joined in the public outcry that prompted that filibuster. </strong> It was a small victory, but a great example of what can happen when the liberty movement mobilizes and speaks up. <br /><br />
In the months ahead, the politicians will be making many more decisions
about our rights, our economic freedom, and whether the Constitution
really means anything. <strong> It is critical that we be heard as those
decisions are made, and our Live Free tour is a great way to tap the
energy and enthusiasm I have found on our college campuses.</strong><br /><br />
Of course, taking the Our America Initiative to all these schools, and
to many more in the months ahead, is a major undertaking. Advertising,
logistics, travel, publicity -- they all require funding. I hope you
will lend your support to this exciting effort by going to <a href="http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=52286984&msgid=239940&act=5PL7&c=800080&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fouramericainitiative.com%2Fdonate" style="color: #0000ff!important;" target="_blank">Our America</a> and making a contribution that will help cover our expenses. <strong>Large or small, your financial support is essential to making the Live Free Tour a success.</strong><br /><br />
And, obviously, I hope to see you somewhere along the tour. <strong> In
addition to our campus rallies, we will be having informal gatherings
at each stop, and it would be great to see you, to exchange ideas, and
talk about what we are doing to put liberty and freedom back on the
national agenda.</strong><br /><br />
Stay tuned for more announcements about special guests, additional
events and other updates about the Live Free tour. And, please, take a
moment to go to </span></span><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 15px;"><a href="http://click.icptrack.com/icp/relay.php?r=52286984&msgid=239940&act=5PL7&c=800080&destination=http%3A%2F%2Fouramericainitiative.com%2Fdonate" style="color: #0000ff!important;" target="_blank">Our America</a></span></span><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 15px;"> and help make the tour as exciting and successful as possible.<br /><br />

Mr. Paul, who opposes the nomination of John O. “I rise today to begin to filibuster John Brennan’s nomination for the C.I.A.,” Mr. Paul began. “I will speak until I can no longer speak. report that initially seemed to debunk a November 2012 Daily Caller
exposé of New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
While the Post said it had an affidavit from a woman in the Dominican
Republic admitting she fabricated claims Menendez paid her for sex,
that woman was not one of the two prostitutes TheDC interviewed for a
Nov. 1 report.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Post <a class="external" href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/escort-says-menendez-prostitution-claims-were-made-up/2013/03/04/31299fe2-8514-11e2-999e-5f8e0410cb9d_story.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">identified the woman</a> as 23-year-old Nexis de los Santos Santana.</div>

The Miami Herald similarly <a class="external" href="http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/03/04/3266938/alleged-prostitute-recants-story.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">reported</a> that de los Santos “was one of two women who appeared in videos” published by The<em> </em>DC.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
De los Santos claimed she was “surreptitiously taped,” the Post wrote.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Miami Herald noted, however that “in The Daily Caller video, in
which she is allegedly the woman wearing green whose face is blurred
out, she appears wearing an earpiece and answering questions.”</div>

Maybe there are some tougher classes out there. But you have to admit, the reading load for this one is pretty intense:<br />
<blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span>Poet W. H. Auden was a
professor at the University of Michigan during the1941-42 academic year,
teaching “Fate and the Individual in European Literature.” His syllabus
required over 6,000 pages of reading including Dante’s “The Divine
Comedy,” Dostoevsky’s “The Brother’s Karamazov” and Melville’s
“Moby-Dick.”</span></span></blockquote>
</blockquote>
<br />
<blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-size: small;">Which would be awesome, were it not required for a single college course.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">The syllabus (first unearthed by the blog “<a href="http://ayjay.tumblr.com/post/32688676580/w-h-auden-taught-at-the-university-of-michigan" target="_blank">more than 95 theses</a>“) identifies the reading list as being for the “first semester…”</span></blockquote>
</blockquote>
<br />
<blockquote>
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
<span style="font-size: small;">Nevertheless, 3,000 pages of Shakespeare and Sophocles in four months still sounds dense<span>.</span></span></blockquote>
</blockquote>
Sounds like a fantastic reading list!<br />

<br />
Dear friend of liberty, <br />
<br />
This week, the House of Representatives will vote on a Continuing
Resolution (CR) to fund the government through September.
<br />
<br />
Reports indicate the House is already looking for
funding tricks so they can cheat on their sequester diet less than a
week in.
<br />
<br />
And, of course, the CR still doesn't cut a penny of actual spending. <br />
<br />
<u>It's vital you sign C4L's "Real Cuts, Right Now" fax petition, but first allow me to explain why</u>. <br />
<br />
While the Republicans maintain a numerical majority
in the House, voting in the 113th Congress shows that a minority of
squishy,
Big Government Republicans have proven themselves willing to vote with
the majority of Democrats to pass unconstitutional legislation. <br />
<br />
For years, the GOP leadership adhered to a rule that
they would only bring a bill to the floor if it had the support of "a
majority of the majority." <br />
<br />
This rule worked fine for them when the majority of
the GOP caucus were establishment Republicans or fiscal conservatives
willing
to betray their principles to "go along to get along." <br />
<br />
But now, thanks to the hard work of Campaign for
Liberty members like you, the GOP establishment can no longer count on
lockstep
support when they try to pass big spending bills, <u>so they are working with liberal Democrats to pass their statist legislation</u>. <br />
<br />
They have already done this three times this year! <br />
<br />
First it was the fiscal cliff, then the pork-laden
Sandy "relief" bill, and most recently, reauthorization of the
Violence against Women Act. <br />
<br />
On all three bills, the majority of the GOP was
against the legislation for fiscal or constitutional reasons, and in all
three
cases, a minority of establishment Republicans teamed up with Democrats
to pass these bills over their objections, while using scare tactics to
get
their way. <br />
<br />
<u>Zachary, if this continues, I'm afraid it's going to be a long two years of coalition rule by the statists in both parties</u>.
<br />
<br />
You and I both know there are plenty of cuts to be made in the federal budget. <br />
<br />
But since Washington can't seem to figure things out, here are some suggestions: <br />
<br />
**** <strong><u>First</u></strong>, the House GOP should not cave in to support ObamaCare and Dodd-Frank (which deepened the
government's involvement in the financial system). <br />
<br />
This CR funds implementation of both ObamaCare and
Dodd-Frank, and a vote for it is as bad as a vote for these bills
themselves!
<br />
<br />
**** <strong><u>Second</u></strong>, every year, Senator Tom Coburn publishes a "Wastebook" - a thorough study of
government waste at the federal level. <br />
<br />
Last year's "Wastebook" identified $18 BILLION in
savings just by eliminating wasteful and duplicative government
spending! <br />
<br />
One example is a research grant to the National
Science Foundation (NSF) for $325,000 to create a robotic squirrel named
"Robosquirrel." Apparently, version 2.0 will give us a "weaponized"
varmint capable of pelting rattlesnakes with stones. <br />
<br />
This highlights an important issue often ignored in
Washington: the federal government has no constitutional authority to
fund
science and technological research! <br />
<br />
It's not popular to say things like the NSF are
unconstitutional and shouldn't exist, but when Washington, D.C. is
running
trillion-dollar deficits annually, we need to reexamine government's
priorities. <br />
<br />
As Coburn's report concluded, "paying $325,000 for a robot squirrel seems a bit squirrelly." <br />
<br />
**** <u><strong>Third</strong></u>, Senator Paul's past budgets and legislative proposals show plenty of fat on the federal budget
that could be trimmed. <br />
<br />
In fact, the first bill Senator Paul introduced last Congress would have cut $500 BILLION in one year! <br />
<br />
You should have seen the faces on the political elite in Washington when he brought that up... <br />
<br />
<u>Even though cutting $500 BILLION would have only taken care of 1/3rd of the federal deficit</u>! <br />
<br />
I can't think of a better example to highlight the
disconnect that exists between Washington, D.C. and Main Street, U.S.A. <br />
<br />
From the establishment's perspective, every dollar spent by Washington is sacred. <br />
<br />
Outside of Washington, however, the reality of the
damage out-of-control government has created is settling in more every
day. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/11699401:14778176830:m:1:282704464:99264B8928DEE06DFD7E3F4582FCBB9B:r" target="_blank"> <strong>So
please
click here to sign your Real Cuts, Right Now petition now and help turn
the American people's desire for reform into action</strong></a>. <br />
<br />
And if you can, please consider going further by
chipping in $10 or more to help Campaign for
Liberty
reach even more people with the Real Cuts, Right Now
message. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/11699401:14778176830:m:1:282704464:99264B8928DEE06DFD7E3F4582FCBB9B:r" target="_blank"><img alt="Please Turn On Your Images" border="0" src="http://www.chooseliberty.org/images/realcuts_clikc.png" /></a> <br />
<br />
You and I sure do have our work cut out for us. <br />
<br />
A large minority of House Republicans has shown they are eager to support the status quo on spending. <br />
<br />
Even worse, they've proven a willingness to team up with Democrats to continue spending us into oblivion. <br />
<br />
You and I must show them doing so will be quite costly. <br />
<br />
<a href="http://paracom.paramountcommunication.com/ct/11699401:14778176830:m:1:282704464:99264B8928DEE06DFD7E3F4582FCBB9B:r" target="_blank"> <strong>That's
why
it's vital you sign your Real Cuts, Right Now petition to urge your
representative and senators to find real savings in the budget</strong></a>.
<br />
<br />
And if you can, please consider chipping in with a
donation of $10 or more after signing the petition to help Campaign for
Liberty
promote Real Cuts, Right Now. <br />
<br />
Not next year, not ten years from now - RIGHT NOW! <br />
<br />
Allowing the increased spending reductions from
sequestration to take effect is just a head nod toward fiscal
responsibility. <br />
<br />
But it's also a smokescreen for reformers to hide behind and say, "See, we tried!" <br />
<br />
<u>Our legislators must be reminded that the $85 billion drop-in-the-bucket cuts are not a stopping point</u>. <br />
<br />
It's time for Congress to wake up and end the status quo cycle of tax-and-spend. <br />
<br />
The first step is getting the House of
Representatives to adopt amendments to the CR that enact REAL Cuts,
Right NOW! <br />

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Friends,</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Why is it that Government almost always responds to a crisis
or tragedy by attacking the rights and privacy of law-abiding citizens? <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
After 9/11, we got the Patriot Act, which put into motion
one of the most unpatriotic attacks on the Constitution, the Bill of Rights and
individual liberty in our lifetimes.
Everything from our phones to our emails to even our library cards and
bank accounts became the government’s “business”. Under this continuing attack, the NDAA and
other laws have taken us to a point where citizens can be detained indefinitely
and, in fact, assassinated in the name of protecting us.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Now, in the aftermath of Newtown and other recent tragic and
senseless crimes, Obama and his friends in Congress are reacting by -- you
guessed it -- doing two basic things:
First, they are rolling out Executive Orders and legislation to further chip
away at a Second Amendment that even the Supreme Court has ruled grants us
individual rights to keep and bear arms to protect ourselves. And second, they are clamoring for deeper and
broader background checks and looking for ways to get more information about
our “mental health”. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
In short, their solution is more government, less freedom
for us, and more of our information going into massive government
databases. Somebody has to say: STOP.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Somebody has to speak the truth and stand up for the fact
that, even in the wake of despicable criminal acts, less freedom for us and
more power for government does NOT MAKE ANYONE IN AMERICA SAFER. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Speaking these truths -- and mobilizing Americans who don’t
want to let an ever-growing government take away more of their freedoms -- is
the entire idea behind the Our America Initiative, of which I am the Honorary
Chairman.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Today, it is the Second Amendment and our privacy. Tomorrow, it will be greater government
control of the Internet. And in the
weeks ahead, it will be critical decisions about the debt ceiling and whether <st1:state>Washington</st1:state>
will finally have the guts to cut spending and face the reality of an
unsustainable $16 Trillion debt. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
My intent as the Honorary Chairman is to help the Our
America Initiative defend our liberty and our economic freedom from the nonstop
attacks by the government. But we need
your help as well. Our planned campus
tours, advertising, media appearances and events all require the financial
support of friends and activists such as you.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
We have worked very hard to put an organization in place
that can have a very real impact on the public and policy debates of the day --
but not without your help. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
I am more convinced than ever that <st1:country-region>America</st1:country-region>
is ready to reject Big Government as the solution to all our problems, and
return to the idea that a strong and prosperous <st1:country-region>America</st1:country-region>

the politicians.<o:p></o:p></div>

Apart from finding out that Barack Obama did far worse in

<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Today's weaker than expected <st1:stockticker>GDP</st1:stockticker>
report shows just how out of touch most professional economists remain with
respect to the fundamental weakness of the <st1:country-region>US</st1:country-region>
economy. After more than four years of nearly never ending monetary stimulus
and more than $5 trillion worth of new federal debt, the economy remains stuck

<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Although the tepid data shocked many economists, I was not
surprised. I believe zero growth is consistent with the state of the real
economy. The stronger growth numbers that we saw in the second half of 2012
were likely inflated due to pre-election hopes. <o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The disappointing economic data takes on an even gloomier
tone when considered against factors that will make recovery that much more
difficult. Interest rates are making their first strong upward move in nine
months. Yields on 10 year Treasury bonds are up 60 basis points since the end
of July, and are over 2.00% for the first time since April 2012.<o:p></o:p></div>

The dollar is falling against most currencies except the
Japanese yen (it is down more than 11% against the Euro since July), and energy
prices are rising (crude oil is approaching $100 per barrel). Although these
conditions are not promising, the stock market seems blissfully out of touch.

<br />
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
The race to further the gun-control agenda in the wake of
last month’s tragic shooting by a crazed gunman in <st1:place><st1:city>Newtown</st1:city>,
<st1:state>Connecticut</st1:state></st1:place> is moving into high gear. The Grand
Old Lady of Gun Control, California Senator Diane Feinstein, last week
introduced a bill that not only seeks to reinstate the 1994 “Federal Assault
Weapons Ban” (AWB), but goes far beyond the scope of the earlier law (which
expired a decade later) in undermining Second Amendment protections for law
abiding Americans.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal">
<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Feinstein’s proposal specifically targets 157 modern
sporting rifles -- or, as she almost gleefully refers to them, “assault
weapons.” In addition to these firearms, the <st1:state>California</st1:state>
liberal’s bill prohibits the sale, transfer, manufacture and importing of
semi-automatic rifles and pistols able to accept detachable magazines, and
which have at least one cosmetic “military” characteristic (the “Clinton Gun
Ban” only banned those types of rifles with at least two such characteristics).
The bill goes on to outlaw magazines with capacities greater than 10-rounds,
and bans the sale or transfer of larger, grandfathered magazines.<o:p></o:p></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">
Don’t even think about trying to get a semi-automatic
shotgun with a rocket launcher attached; Feinstein specifically listed those as
well.<o:p></o:p></div>

Just as otherwise lawful suburbanites might slug it out over
silly driveway boundaries, or trivial road rage can escalate into shooting
violence, so nations and factions can whip themselves up to go to war --
consider 1861, 1914 or 1939. Often, the pretexts for starting a war are not
real shortages of land, food or fuel, but rather perceptions -- like fear,
honor and perceived self-interest.<o:p></o:p></div>

To the ancient Greek philosophers Heraclitus and Plato, war

<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: justify;">
( 1 ) It is in the Capitol Building in Montgomery, Alabama where Terry Lee and I have unfinished business with the State of Alabama, and have not had time to forge a document expressing those concerns of business first to the Honorable Jay Hinton.our gracious Host. There are historical depictions and visual presentations of events that took place in Alabama, and most prevalent the Marches of King. One of the most beautiful Confederate soldiers monument stands on its grounds. The Southern Cross sits in a place of prominence on the House Chamber floor. A star encased in marble marks the place and date of the Honorable President Davis 1st Inaugural Address. Yet there was no display to be found of any of those venues, or of those Black folks who earned a place of honor under the Southern Cross. </div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: justify;">
Terry Lee, Jay and I sat through a Presentation in the State Museum adjacent to the Capitol Building where noted author Ben Severance gave a visual and oral presentation about his Photo Journal that supposedly gave a photographic history of Alabama showing the human side of the country's greatest conflict. Yet he only depicted three re-construction Blacks in his book, and only talked about one favorably. And in his presentation one he mentioned as having an election stolen from him by the local White Sheriff because he stole the ballot box, and had himself elected. And this was suppose to be a funny joke that was laughed at by many present. Never is there any mention of Jim Jeb who fought alongside his master at Manassas, or Horace King or a picture of him and one of the Wonders of the world he built next door in the Capitol; their spiral stair case, or the bridges and roads he built for General Lees' army.Never any picture of Holt Collier who rode with Forrest, or mention of his love and devotion to his former master, typical of the many Africans freed or indentured as a form of reciprocation for the love shown to them.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: justify;">
However, there we were with Terry Lee's documentation of the Cold War Between the States that showed a side that perhaps Ben Severance for whatever reason thought not important to portrait in his works. We had journeyed some twenty miles a day, six days a week, interacting with the sons of former slaves, the sons of former slave owners, and some that were not, just Southern, and just like their ancestors, some Northerners that were sympathetic to the Southern Cause. We heard their stories, we read the most sacred mail of their ancestors, the rarest of documents, and books ever written, and we broke bread at the table of Brotherhood every day and learned first hand about the love that they talked of between a man called master and friend, A love that was shattered by the trickery of a man who played the biggest trick on them when he broke the rules of the document forged to guide them in this land. And now still with malice of intent continue to use the African people against them with deceit and lies to break their spirits . And again here we were with all the proof that our Southern family needed in the documentation of Terry Lee in his Photo Journal and visual documentation to put an end to a tale told so mean. An end that America so badly needs as it projects itself as the champion purveyor of human rights on the global stage, another lie told until the assault on the South and its people come to an end.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: justify;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; text-align: justify;">
( 2 ) The March Across Dixie is wherever I am as we fight an onslaught of attacks on our heritage and the symbols of those who would dare circumvent the people as a King had done before. We desperately need funds to fight in this war we wage as those who oppose us have far superior resources akin to those our ancestors faced in another day. We could not have asked the Almighty God for a better time and battle ground to forge a victory for America as it faces again the very issues faced by President Davis the day he gave his farewell speech to Congress. I hope that we get enough sponsors to propel us on towards Texas. I expect to post my Flag on the Capitol grounds before May. God bless you.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Watching President Obama's inaugural, I was confused. It looked like a new king was being crowned. Thousands cheered, like subjects worshipping nobility. At a time when America faces unsustainable debt and terrible economic troubles, why such pomp?</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px;">
</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
Maybe it's because so many people tell themselves presidents can solve any problem, like fairy-tale kings -- or gods.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
Before America's first inauguration, John Adams suggested George Washington be called "His Most Benign Highness." Fortunately, Congress insisted on the more modest title, "President."</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
At his inaugural, President Obama himself said, "The patriots of 1776 did not fight to replace the tyranny of a king with the privileges of a few."</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
But then Obama went on to say that his privileged few should force the rest of us to do a zillion things.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
He said, "We must do these things, together." But what "together" means to big-government folks is that <i>they</i> have a vision -- and all of us, together, must go deeper into debt to pay for their vision, even if we disagree.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
We can afford this, as the president apparently told John Boehner, because America does not have a spending problem.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
But, of course, we <i>do</i> have a spending problem, and a debt problem, and the president knows this.</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
Just a few years ago, when George W. Bush was president, the Congressional Record shows that <i>Senator</i> Obama said this: "I rise, today, to talk about America's debt problem. The fact that we are here to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure and our government's reckless fiscal policies."</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
Right!</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
Sen. Obama went</div>
<div style="background-color: white; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3em; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-top: 10px; padding: 0px; text-align: justify;">
