Ron Paul: “This Is Outrageous!”

Dear friend of liberty,

After Kurt Bills won the endorsement to be the official Republican candidate in the race for United States Senate from Minnesota – thanks to the help of good folks like you – two of his opponents did the honorable thing . . .

They dropped out and threw their support behind Kurt’s candidacy.

That is because Kurt is the real deal. He is a true believer in Liberty with the ability to carry the freedom message to victory this fall.

One opponent, however, has not been so honorable. He instead decided to attack Kurt, smear me and, by extension, all of what you and I believe in.

Just watch this disgusting attack Kurt’s opponent is running on FOX News in Minnesota during Sean Hannity's Show and The O’Reilly Factor.

People like Kurt’s opponent don’t care about your Liberty. They just want power for themselves, and they will stop at nothing to get it.

Fortunately, when Liberty is attacked, people like you stand up. I hope you are as outraged by this disgusting ad as I am.

Let’s flood Kurt Bills with donations so he can get his positive message of sound money, limited government, and balanced budgets out to the voters.

I know if you and I help him now he can beat down these dirty attacks and win in the fall.

Please consider making a contribution of $50, $100, $250, or even the federal maximum contribution of $2,500 today.

Remember, Kurt is being attacked for standing with you and me. Let’s stand with him and give him the money he needs to fight.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

“Crashing” the Party?

Today, the New York Times has a story about Ron Paul, his movement and the progress Paul supporters have made in reshaping the Republican Party. Typical of what you might expect from the NYT, it says Paul supporters are “crashing” the party. Reason’s Brian Doherty sets them straight:

NYT:
In Minnesota, Paulites stormed the Republican gathering in St. Cloud last weekend, bumping aside two conventional Republican candidates to choose one of their own, Kurt P. Bills, a high school economics teacher, to challenge Senator Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat, this fall.

Backers of Mr. Paul, a Republican congressman from Texas, crashed Republican conventions in Iowa, Maine, Minnesota and Nevada in recent weeks, snatching up the lion’s share of delegate slots for the Republican National Convention in Tampa this August, a potential headache for the national party and its presumptive nominee, Mitt Romney.

Reason/Doherty:
It’s not “crashing,” New York Times. These conventions are open to Republicans of all sorts to follow the rules and vote as they wish. Winning elections on any level is not “crashing.” It’s succeeding at politics, which the Ron Paul people are proving unexpectedly good at. Ahem, OK, back to the Times‘s wisdom:

NYT:
And Paulite candidates for Congress are sprouting up from Florida to Virginia to Colorado, challenging sitting Republicans and preaching the gospel of radically smaller government, an end to the Federal Reserve, restraints on Bush-era antiterrorism laws and a pullback from foreign military adventures.

“I’d call it a strict constitutional approach,” said Senator Rand Paul, Republican of Kentucky and Ron Paul’s son. “And I think it’s spreading.”

YAL PAC candidate wins!

Last Friday, the YAL PAC-endorsed U.S. Senate Candidate, Kurt Bills, won the Republican nomination at the Minnesota State Convention. He will now take on the statist Democrat, Amy Klobuchar.

Thanks to your support, the YAL PAC bundled $18,315 for his victorious primary campaign.

Also, Kurt's Deputy Field Director, Matt Pagano, is a YAL member and YAL-trained activist. And, just this week, YAL MN State Chair, Tim Bertram, left his position with YAL to join Kurt's campaign as Youth Coordinator.

Take a look at this picture with Matt and Kurt at the state convention:

Our message is growing, and YAL's mission of "winning on principle" continues to advance!

Kurt won the nomination with more than 60% of the convention vote -- more votes than his two well-funded establishment opponents COMIBINED. But to win the general election, Kurt will need to raise enough money to fight Klobuchar's established fundraising machine.

That's where you and I must come in. Your past support played a significant role in securing his primary victory. But, now he needs your support again for the general election.

Will you help take on the establishment's money machine and send Kurt to the Senate?

He is exactly the candidate we need to assist Rand Paul and Mike Lee in their fight for liberty on Capitol Hill!

Remember, Kurt Bills:

Is an economics teacher who supports free markets
Opposes all government spending that adds to our national debt
Supports a full audit of the Federal Reserve
Opposes the PATRIOT Act, TSA, SOPA, and NDAA
Supports a non-interventionist foreign policy and ending the wars overseas

Then, please consider donating to him at this key time. Your contribution of $25, $50, $250 or $2,500 ($5,000 for couples) through the YAL PAC will signal to Kurt that you support his strict constitutional positions and stand alongside him as he prepares to take on the big-government Democrat.

As you can see, YAL is doing everything we can to elect another "Champion of the Constitution." I hope you will join in too.

Bills: The Next Rand Paul

Dear friend of Liberty,

This week, Sen. Rand Paul took a lonely stand in the Senate to stop foreign aid programs to Egypt -- one of many such stands he has taken against unconstitutional programs like the PATRIOT Act, the NDAA, and SOPA.  With the help of a few other pro-liberty Senators like Mike Lee of Utah, he's been able to block a lot of bad legislation.

But Rand needs reinforcements -- which is why I'm so excited to introduce you to the YAL PAC's newest endorsement:  Kurt Bills.

Kurt is endorsed by Ron Paul and running for U.S. Senate as a Republican in Minnesota.

He is a high school economics teacher who jumped into politics in 2008 as a "citizen-legislator," as he grew a feeling of responsibility to his young students overwhelmed by the debt and deficits they will inherit.  He ran for City Council in a field of 26 candidates and won the seat without putting up a single yard sign.

Here is a small sampling of Kurt Bills' positions on the issues:

Opposes all tax increases and the federal income tax
Supports a non-interventionist foreign policy that puts America first
Opposes the NDAA, PATRIOT Act, TSA, and SOPA
Supports a full audit and abolishing the Federal Reserve
Supports federalism on all legislation not specifically authorized in the Constitution

Please take a minute to learn more about Kurt Bills here.  He is exactly the candidate we need to assist Rand Paul and Mike Lee in their fight for liberty in the Senate!

Then, please give what you can to elect Kurt to the Senate -- $25, $50, $250 or $2,500 ($5,000 for couples) -- through the YAL PAC.

Kurt is running in a tough race:  Once he wins the GOP primary, he'll face an incumbent, statist Democrat with a huge fundraising machine behind her.

That's why it's so important that our movement get behind Kurt NOW to make this a fair fight.  I am confident together we can give Minnesota a strict constitutionalist in the Senate -- but you and I have to support Kurt Bills now.

For liberty,

Jeff Frazee
