Ron Paul: “This Is Outrageous!”

Dear friend of liberty,

After Kurt Bills won the endorsement to be the official Republican candidate in the race for United States Senate from Minnesota – thanks to the help of good folks like you – two of his opponents did the honorable thing . . .

They dropped out and threw their support behind Kurt’s candidacy.

That is because Kurt is the real deal. He is a true believer in Liberty with the ability to carry the freedom message to victory this fall.

One opponent, however, has not been so honorable. He instead decided to attack Kurt, smear me and, by extension, all of what you and I believe in.

Just watch this disgusting attack Kurt’s opponent is running on FOX News in Minnesota during Sean Hannity's Show and The O’Reilly Factor.

People like Kurt’s opponent don’t care about your Liberty. They just want power for themselves, and they will stop at nothing to get it.

Fortunately, when Liberty is attacked, people like you stand up. I hope you are as outraged by this disgusting ad as I am.

Let’s flood Kurt Bills with donations so he can get his positive message of sound money, limited government, and balanced budgets out to the voters.

I know if you and I help him now he can beat down these dirty attacks and win in the fall.

Please consider making a contribution of $50, $100, $250, or even the federal maximum contribution of $2,500 today.

Remember, Kurt is being attacked for standing with you and me. Let’s stand with him and give him the money he needs to fight.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

Rick Santorum’s Cafeteria Catholicism

By Jack Hunter

On Bill O’Reilly’s FOX News program Wednesday night, Rick Santorum found himself defending his views on contraception. Reports Mediaite:

“It’s going to be a national demonization and you’re going to be portrayed as an extremist,” O’Reilly explained, “and some of your views are out of the mainstream according to polls.” He noted in particular that 98% of Americans support the freedom to use contraceptives, while Santorum believes states have a right to ban them. Santorum noted that the Vatican had restricted the use of them and that he believed states that approved of them should be able to legalize them as well.

Added Santorum: Bill, you’re a Catholic, Catholic Church teaches contraceptive is something you shouldn’t do.

O’Reilly continued to chide Santorum for his supposedly “extreme” views, but I applaud the Senator. There should be more Americans willing to stick to their faith even when it is unpopular or they stand in the minority. There was a time when more Americans agreed with Santorum about contraception. This doesn’t necessarily make Santorum’s position any more or less right or wrong, only more or less popular. Big difference.

But the problem with Santorum is he picks and chooses when to stick to his Catholic faith. The Vatican is so dedicated to protecting life that it looks down on contraception, but the same is true of its view of “preventive war.” There is a time for war, says Catholic teaching, but…

RON PAUL IS THE MOST CONSERVATIVE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE

Jack Hunter's response to Dick Morris at The Daily Caller:
On Wednesday, Dick Morris said Ron Paul is “the most liberal, radical, left-wing person to run for president in the United States in the last 50 years.” Actually, Ron Paul is the most conservative person to run for president in the last 50 years. Understanding this first requires at least a minimal understanding of traditional American conservatism.
Morris made his case for Paul’s “left-wing radicalism” on “The O’Reilly Factor”:
Nobody else wants to dismantle the military, including Obama, but he does. Even Obama doesn’t want to repeal the Patriot Act. But he does. Even Obama doesn’t say that we caused 9/11 and brought it on ourselves. But Ron Paul does. Even Obama doesn’t want to legalize heroin and cocaine, but Ron Paul does. This guy is no conservative. This guy is an ultra, ultra-left-wing radical.
Paul’s Pentagon cuts, which aren’t much different from what Sen. Tom Coburn has suggested, are necessary to streamline our military and tackle our debt problem. Coburn has allies besides Paul in this fight, or as National Review’s Jamie Fly writes:
FreedomWorks, a Washington-based group that purports to speak for the Tea Party movement, issued its own “Tea Party Budget” containing the recommendations of its debt commission. They suggested enacting defense-spending reforms previously proposed by Sen. Tom Coburn that would result in almost $1 trillion in savings over ten years.
There’s a reason that Paul is the only presidential candidate who has been able to offer $1 trillion in cuts. He is the only candidate willing to address the black hole that is Pentagon spending. After entitlements... (Read more)

VIDEO: Adherence to the Oath

New RevPAC Ad

After being in the works for a few weeks, Revolution PAC’s production team unleashed a new ad today titled “Adherence to the Oath”, featuring Vietnam veteran Bill Manning. In a calm, commanding voice, Manning speaks emotionally about what taking the Oath to uphold the Constitution means to him, and why he thinks Ron Paul gets such overwhelming support from the US military.

According to Q3 FEC donation reports, Ron Paul received virtually triple the donations from active-duty military than all the other Republican candidates combined. This fact is vindication of Ron Paul’s non-interventionist foreign policy, and a direct contradiction to clueless pundits like Dick Morris, Bill O’Reilly, and Sean Hannity, trapped in a neo-con isolationist fantasy world of endless war and death.

In a recent statement, which has received serious backlash from combat veterans, Dick Morris actually said anyone who supports Ron Paul and his campaign is “unpatriotic”.

The sad part is that Dick has no idea what he is talking about. He has no personal experience on which to base his opinion. You see, Mr. Morris was too much of a coward to put his own ass on the line by volunteering for the military during the Vietnam War. He was twenty years old in 1968- prime fighting age. Some other poor kid fought and died in his place. He should be ashamed of himself. Not for dodging service in Vietnam, mind you, but for espousing his current hawkish attitude toward foreign policy despite his reluctance to serve in his own war. You can talk the talk, Dick, but you never had the balls to walk the walk.

“Adherence to the Oath” is a clear example of why Ron Paul’s philosophy of a non-interventionist foreign policy is winning over in the minds of the American people, who are sick of endless overseas endeavors which are bankrupting our nation, while the stale neo-con “bomb everything forever” mantra is fading away like an evening sunset.

Ron Paul Unelectable?

By Zach Foster

In February, Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly was incredibly critical of Congressman Ron Paul’s ability to win.[1]  He mentioned briefly how Donald Trump was booed at the CPAC 2011 meeting by the crowd, as O’Reilly says, “because of Ron Paul.”  What O’Reilly failed to mention in that creatively worded statement is how the audience at CPAC was overwhelmingly favorable towards Ron Paul and highly disagreed with The Donald’s arrogant statement that Ron Paul cannot be elected.  Paul, after all, won the CPAC straw poll for the best possible Republican Presidential Candidate.  O’Reilly also compared Congressman Paul to a number of nearly nameless third party candidates who were unable to garnish massive support in the past, Ralph Nader being one of them.

John Stossel, educated not only in the arena of politics but also in economics, spoke in favor of Congressman Paul.  The interesting thing about O’Reilly’s statements is that they seemed to flip-flop between undermining Congressman Paul’s ability to win and then calling upon him to run because he’s an interesting candidate and will be able to challenge the front runners, whom O’Reilly had already decided were Bachmann, Romney, and Perry.  What O’Reilly apparently didn’t seem to consider was the possibility that not only would Paul be able to challenge the O’Reilly-crowned “front runners” but also stump them while they merely pay lip service to the Constitution and actually present himself to the American people as a better candidate.

O’Reilly’s main problem with Ron Paul is that he’s “too radical” and “isolationist.”  He seems to be unaware that Paul’s foreign policy is based on the Constitution and the guidance of the Founding Fathers.  If a foreign policy based on the Constitution and the guidance of the national founders is considered to be too radical for America, then America has obviously lost its way and needs to turn around and retrace her steps.

In his 2008 book The Revolution, Congressman Paul quotes several early statesmen at length, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Henry Clay who were overwhelmingly in favor of avoiding foreign entanglements, to defend his Constitutional foreign policy.  He even quotes at length the non-interventionist platform that George W. Bush ran on and was elected on in 2000 and eventually betrayed.

This idea was popular when George W. Bush ran on it, but eleven years later it’s all of a sudden too radical.  Ron Paul is not a radical for seeking a policy of noninterventionism.  He says:

“I myself have never been an isolationist.  I favor the very opposite of isolation: diplomacy, free trade, and freedom of travel.  The real isolationists are those who impose sanctions and embargoes on countries and peoples across the globe because they disagree with the internal and foreign policies of their leaders.  The real isolationists are those who choose to use force overseas to promote democracy, rather than seeking change through diplomacy, engagement, and by setting a positive example.  The real isolationists are those who isolate their country in the court of world opinion by pursuing needless belligerence and war that have nothing to do with legitimate national security concerns.”[2]

O’Reilly was even willing to make a bet against Stossel, the stakes being $1,000 for wounded warriors, that Congressman Paul won’t win a single primary election in 2012.  Many anti-Paul Republicans today, as in February, love to [falsely] cite Paul’s alleged un-electability.  When they do so, they ignore the fact that he is the leading candidate.  While on Monday a USA Today Gallup Poll showed Ron Paul in third place, a telephone survey of Iowa’s likely caucus participants revealed:

“Overall, just 28% of potential Iowa Caucus participants are absolutely certain of how they will vote, while the rest could change their mind. Among those who are certain of their vote, Ron Paul is on top at 27%.”[3]

The article on Info Wars making the above quotation also stated that “With this kind of showing, Ron Paul’s candidacy can no longer be accurately characterized as a long shot.”

Following yesterday’s (August 11) debate in Iowa, Congressman Paul overwhelmingly won the Iowa Online Straw Poll, claiming 44% of the overall vote and leaving the other seven candidates to divide the remaining 56%.  The distant second in that poll was Herman Cain with 16%.[4]

Even Fox News, many of whose anchors have been falsely and dishonestly proclaiming Romney as the frontrunner, admits that Ron Paul won the debate, receiving over 20,000 of the total 36,000 votes (Gingrich came in second place with 5,000~).[5]  Another Fox News online poll, at the time of this writing, confirmed Paul as the winner with over 14,000 of 37,000 total votes, raking in 38% of the total vote.[6]

MSNBC’s online poll, riddled with user comments bashing the Republican Party, showed Ron Paul leading with nearly 11,000 (36%) of the total 29,500 votes.  The category with the second most votes (23%) was “no clear winner.[7]  The Red Dog Report showed Ron Paul pulling in 78% of total votes, with Gingrich at a distant second with 7%.[8]  In the last Republican debate in June, Ron Paul won all three Fox News online polls as well as CNN’s poll (83%).[9]

Clearly Ron Paul is not such a radical after all if he is receiving such massive support from both within and without the Republican Party.  As much as O’Reilly may lack faith in him, Congressman Ron Paul is not unelectable.  He is clearly the people’s choice for the most qualified candidate to run against President Obama in 2012, and he will do so on a platform whose solid foundation is the Constitution, and his guiding lights will be his faith in God and the written guidance of the Founding Fathers and great statesmen throughout the ages.

Pinheads and Patriots: Where You Stand in the Age of Obama

Bill O'Reilly (Author)

"When Bill O'Reilly interviewed then-Senator Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential elections, the two had a lively debate about the nation's future.

Since that time, America has changed rapidly—some would even say seismically. And many believe these shifts are doing more than just rocking the political and social climate; they're rocking the American core.

What are these changes? Who, in addition to President Obama, have been the biggest forces behind them? What exactly do they mean for you, the everyday American citizen? How are they affecting your money, health, safety, freedom, and standing in this nation? Which are Pinheaded moves and which are truly Patriotic? In his latest spirited book, O'Reilly prompts further debate with the President and the American people on the current state of the union.

After five consecutive, no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is megabestsellers, you can count on Bill to offer blunt and constructive political commentary. And as he did in his popular memoir, he offers some introspection too, looking back at his own actions and those of past Pinheads and Patriots who have inspired a code of conduct for such taxing times.

As always, O'Reilly is fair, balanced, and uncompromisingly tough when guarding the American way. Only Pinheads would fail to fight for what they love most about this country or to embrace some measure of change to make it better. The rest of us Patriots will read this book to discover the difference between the two.

For more than thirteen years, Bill O'Reilly has presided over The O'Reilly Factor on the FOX News Channel, the highest-rated cable news program, frequently topping those offered by broadcast networks. He is a three-time Emmy Award winner as well as the recipient of a Governor's Award from the Boston/New England chapter of the prestigious National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Before becoming executive producer and anchor of The O'Reilly Factor, he served as a national correspondent for ABC News and as an anchor of the nationally syndicated news magazine program Inside Edition. He is the author of numerous megabestsellers, including A Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity, a deeply personal memoir that has sold more than one million copies and appeared high on the New York Times bestseller list for more than fifty-two weeks, as well as four previous nonfiction works, all of which went to number one on that same list. In addition, The O'Reilly Factor for Kids outsold all other children's nonfiction titles in 2005. All in all, more than five million copies of O'Reilly's books are in circulation. He holds master's degrees from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and from Boston University."
