LP Monday Message: Lights of Liberty Awards

Dear Friend of Liberty,

Thanks to the generous support of our contributors, we raised around $2,000 last week when we asked for help to buy a teleprompter. We'll be ordering an affordable model shortly, along with lighting, a podium, and a few other things needed to help us generate good-quality videos. We really appreciate the financial support for this effort.

On to the awards: As you may know, many Libertarians are supporters of the Advocates for Self-Government, a nonprofit group dedicated to promoting liberty. In fact, two members of the Libertarian National Committee, Dr. James W. Lark, III and Mark Rutherford, sit on their board of directors.

The Advocates for Self-Government is now acknowledging 2010 libertarian activists with the Lights of Liberty Awards. The awards are for working at Operation Politically Homeless booths, giving libertarian speeches, and writing letters to the editor. There are clear, simple criteria to determine who qualifies for these awards. They aren't just given to one person -- everyone who qualifies can receive the award. Visit their site, and if you or someone you know qualifies, let the Advocates know.

Sincerely,

Wes Benedict
Executive Director
Libertarian National Committee

P.S. If you have not already done so, please join the Libertarian Party. We are the only political party dedicated to free markets, civil liberties, and peace. You can also renew your membership. Or, you can make a contribution separate from membership.
