Judge Andrew Napolitano: Guns and the President

Here is an uncomfortable pop quiz: Who has killed more children, Adam Lanza or Barack Obama? We'll hold off on the answer for a few paragraphs while we look at the state of governmental excess -- including killing -- in America. But you can probably guess the correct answer from the manner in which I have posed the question.
We all know that the sheet anchor of our liberties is the Declaration of Independence. The president himself quoted Thomas Jefferson's most famous line in his inaugural address earlier this week. He recognized that all men and women are created equal and endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights and that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
The president would no doubt like to modify the word "created" to read "shall be maintained," since his presidency seems dedicated to keeping us equal, not in terms of equality of rights and opportunity but of outcome. He has dedicated himself to using the coercive power of the federal government to take from those who have and give to those who don't. Under the Constitution, charity is a decision for individuals to make, not the government.
This forced egalitarianism was never the purpose of government in America. When the people in the...

2013 Resolution: Draft Judge Napolitano for President

The Ship of State is listing badly to port,
and Judge Andrew Napolitano is the star to steer her by.

Draft the Judge, He Tells The Truth

The Liberty Movement Needs Judge Andrew Napolitano.
Sign the Petition to Draft Judge Napolitano in 2013

We know that Judge Napolitano is the one candidate who can carry Ron Paul’s mantel in the 2016 elections.

He has demonstrated time and time again – on national television – that he won’t bow down to the Republican Establishment leaders. He has shown a unique willingness to challenge the doctrine of go-along-get-along in Washington DC. He has been fearless in standing up to the culture of elitism and top-down control that emanates from our nation’s capital.

We know that Judge Napolitano can prevent our movement from getting divided and conquered by those in both the Democrat and Republican parties who want to squash Liberty for the sake of their cynical electoral ambitions.

And, if the Judge’s long track record of Constitutional advocacy and principled leadership isn’t evidence enough, Ron Paul himself vouched for the Judge, stating he would call on Judge Napolitano to be his Vice President.

We’ve got our champion. We know who can stand on the bow of the ship of Liberty and point America towards the bright future she deserves. Now, we must rally together and make it our mission to convince the Judge that this country needs him desperately.

Like all those who should be in a position of power, Judge Napolitano is reluctant to entertain the possibility. This is all the more reason that he’s our guy. The Judge has no masters to serve except the Constitution, and no special interest groups besides the people of our great nation.

That’s the kind of man Ron Paul is, and that’s exactly the candidate the Liberty Movement must always have.

We watched last year as more of the political discussion in America turned toward the Liberty platform. And while this is a much-welcomed change in discourse, it brings a real and present danger. Republicans and Democrats alike are taking talking points from us, yet they aren’t doing anything in Congress or in the White House to put feet to their words.

We can’t allow empty talkers to steal our movement – that would surely lead to our destruction. That’s why it is so imperative that we have a proven Constitutional advocate holding the line as our commander.

Drafting Judge Napolitano isn’t just about having a true believer in the cause of Liberty – it’s about having someone who knows how to inspire and enlighten like Ron Paul does. And as Dr. Paul recognized when he called on the Judge to be his Vice President, Judge Andrew Napolitano has spent years doing just that.

Whether with his time as a jurist, or through his books and book tours, or his time on national television advocating for a return to Constitutional Liberty in America, the Judge has been a beacon towards the America our Founders intended.

So now that we know who can be the perfect leader for Liberty as our presidential contender for 2016 – endorsed in the strongest terms by Ron Paul, and a proven and unshakeable warrior for Liberty on the  national stage – we don’t have a minute to lose.

We must start 2013 off with a tireless effort to convince the Judge of just how much America needs him. And just like Eisenhower, Judge Napolitano will resist the Presidency until the people demand he accept it. In fact, supporters tried to motivate Eisenhower for more than two years before he finally threw his hat in the ring.

I can’t speak for Eisenhower’s motivations, but I know why Judge Napolitano won’t jump at the chance to run for President. He doesn’t want to control people. He doesn’t have any corporate masters to bow down to. He doesn’t have aspirations to power or control. He simply wants to stand in front of the American people and lead them back to the Constitutional liberties that we’ve lost over the decades.

And that is why he is exactly the man for this job.

The Country Needs the Liberty Movement.
The Liberty Movement Needs Judge Andrew Napolitano.
Sign the Petition to Draft Judge Napolitano in 2013!

We need you alongside us as we make 2013 about getting the Judge to accept the job of leading the Liberty Movement successfully through the 2016 Presidential elections. We can’t afford to wait until the primaries to build support for a Judge Napolitano presidency. We need someone to lead with a steady hand for the next three years, and guide the country toward the logical conclusion – that a return to Liberty is the only way back to prosperity and greatness.

If you haven’t yet, sign the petition and let the Judge know that he’s our man. And please take a few minutes and forward this email to every Liberty-loving American you know. Post the link to the petition (http://andrewnapolitano.com/) on your Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, and every other network you happen to be a part of.

The voice of the establishment and those who would lead our Movement astray is loud and powerful, but the voice of We the People is always more powerful – as long as we use it to its full potential. We mustn’t let this year pass us by without taking advantage of this chance to reunite and reinvigorate the Liberty Movement.

Defend Liberty. Draft the Judge.

P.S. Remember, "Beyond The Man Is The Movement". We must have a leader who doesn't just know how to talk the talk about the principles of liberty but also has a proven record of walking the walk on those principles. The country needs the Liberty Movement, and the Liberty Movement needs Judge Napolitano. And we need your signature to make it happen. Please sign the petition today!"

Open Letter to RNC member Shawn Steel regarding Mitt Romney

In response to a Peggy Noonan article forwarded by RNC member Shawn Steele, 22 June 2012

Shawn,

Mitt Romney is totally ignoring the Liberty faction of the Republican Party and in doing so he will NOT receive our support in November.  Keep in mind that we're 20% of the GOP.  Many libertarian-leaning Republicans would be prepared to swallow their pride and vote for him but only on the condition that he take a Paul as VP, nominate Judge Andrew Napolitano as Attorney General, and an Austrian-school economist--perhaps Lew Rockwell or Walter Block--as Treasury Secretary.

Also, ex-Governor Romney NEEDS to promise to fully audit the Federal Reserve and end U.S. aid to war-torn middle eastern countries; Pakistan's harboring of Bin Laden and failure to fight the Taliban, as well as Yemen harboring of Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood taking over Egypt just go to show that American dollars are only propping up dictators, warlords, and corrupt governments sympathetic to the jihadists.

The few recommendations I listed are nowhere near our full preferred platform but they're at least enough to stop the bleeding caused by both parties.  If Romney swore to those things in a press release, then he may get our support.  Otherwise, NO DICE.

Keep in mind that Democrats and Republicans will stop campaigning the day after the General Election--our faction won't.  God bless America and the Constitution.

Yours in liberty,

Zach Foster

This video is a few days old but still HIGHLY relevant.

As of June 7, 2012, liberty movement and Tea Party favorite Rand Paul endorsed Mitt Romney for the Presidency. In this video I explain why Rand may have done what he had to do, and reveal who I'll be supporting after the Republican National Convention. Also, RON IS STILL IN THIS and we still have work to do!

Please watch, LIKE, and SHARE with as many people as possible!

VIDEO - CIA Bin Laden Unit: Ron Paul Is Right

By Chris

Michael Scheuer, the former head of the CIA’s “Bin Laden Unit”, defends Ron Paul’s foreign policy positions that our overseas military empire does the US more harm than good. This is in stark contrast to Monday’s CNN “Tea Party Express” Republican primary presidential debate, where following an attack by neocon former senator Rick Santorum, Tea-o-con members of the studio audience ignorantly boo’ed Ron Paul for explaining the real reasons of Middle-eastern hatred toward the United States.

Boo’ing Ron Paul’s truthful explanation shows the so-called “Tea Party” mainstreamers have a long way to go in differentiating domestic big government from big government abroad, and that unless we face the motivations of our enemies, our overseas militaristic interventionism will continue to make the US a growing target of terrorism. The CIA itself even admits this, calling it “blowback”. Yet neocon talking heads like Santorum continue to mindlessly froth that bombing everything in the Middle East, aside from Israel, will make us safer.

Relevant discussion starts at 2:40 in the video above.

LP Monday Message: FreedomFest report

Dear Friend of Liberty,

I just returned from FreedomFest, a conference which bills itself as "The Greatest Libertarian Show on Earth!"

FreedomFest is not affiliated with the Libertarian Party, but lots of Libertarian Party members attended. There were over 2,000 people, and many organizations that support libertarian principles participated.

The Libertarian Party had a strong presence, with three of us listed in the program guide as speakers, including an opening by LNC member Wayne Allyn Root, a presentation on "The Case for the Libertarian Party" by LNC Chair Mark Hinkle and me, and exhibitor booths by the California Libertarian Party and the national LP.

The program guide contained tributes to eleven freedom advocates including LP co-founder David F. Nolan (1943-2010), and the first LP presidential nominee, John Hospers (1918-2011).

Our Vice Chair, Mark Rutherford, and elected Libertarian Indianapolis Councilor Ed Coleman attended, as well as the LP California Chair, Kevin Takenaga (along with many other California Libertarians), LP Pennsylvania Chair Lou Jasikoff, and many others, including some of the top donors to the LP.

My goals were to promote the Libertarian Party, network with other organizations, and learn from some of the top speakers in the movement.

Rob Kampia, Executive Director of the Marijuana Policy Project, gave a presentation entitled "Is marijuana policy the only issue heading in a libertarian direction?"

I was unable to attend Rob's presentation, but unfortunately, the answer to his question may be yes, because there aren't too many areas where freedom has advanced lately under either Republican or Democratic control. Certainly the topics at FreedomFest seemed more oriented towards pointing out encroachments on freedom and protecting your investments in a failing economy, rather than celebrating the advancement of freedom and prosperity.

My favorite speaker was Judge Andrew Napolitano, host of Freedom Watch on Fox Business Network. He gave a great speech focused on defending our freedoms against abuses by the government. He ripped the Patriot Act and many other recent and long past abuses of the constitution. In response to the question "What can individuals do to fight back?" Judge Napolitano said something along the lines of, "Point out in public when your congressmen are violating the freedoms protected by the Constitution."

That's something Libertarian Party candidates are excellent at.

We'll have videos from the event to share in the coming days.

Sincerely,

Wes Benedict
Executive Director
Libertarian National Committee

P.S. If you have not already done so, please join the Libertarian Party. We are the only political party dedicated to free markets, civil liberties, and peace. You can also renew your membership. Or, you can make a contribution separate from membership.
