RNC Chairman Priebus Statement on The Passage Of The Largest Spending Cut Since WWII

By: Michael Short

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement today regarding the passage of the short-term budget that funds the government through the rest of the fiscal year and makes the largest single spending cut since World War II:

“I applaud the passage of today’s short-term budget that keeps the government open and cuts billions in wasteful Washington spending. Thanks to Speaker Boehner and our new Republican House majority, Barack Obama will spend over $78 billion less than he would have this fiscal year. Going toe-to-toe with Democrat leadership in the Senate and the President who don’t want to cut spending and would rather raise taxes on hardworking Americans, Republicans have successfully changed the conversation in Washington.  This is a positive first step in the fight to restore fiscal sanity in Washington so we can move to tackling Paul Ryan’s historic budget that provides real, specific solutions for our economic future.”
