RNC Chairman Priebus Statement on the June Unemployment Numbers

By Michael Short

WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus released the following statement today regarding the June unemployment numbers:

“Each passing unemployment report is a stinging reminder that President Obama has failed to get our economy out of the ditch. Today is another indication that we need to move away from the President's job-destroying policies and toward solutions that restore confidence, control spending, and put Americans back to work.

“Unemployment has remained above 8 percent every month President Obama has been in office despite his trillion dollar 'stimulus.' The President’s own Council of Economic Advisors reported that the 2.4 million jobs “created or saved” cost taxpayers $278,000 each. The bottom line is America can’t afford to continue delaying the recovery by doubling down on job-destroying regulations and out-of-control spending. It’s time to change direction and make Barack Obama a one-term president."
