December 20, 2010 will mark the 150th anniversary of the day that South Carolina seceded from the Union, kicking off a chain reaction that led to the War Between the States—to date the bloodiest and most divisive struggle America has ever faced. Here at the Political Spectrum we will do our best to cover the Secession from every angle in order to understand the phenomenon that divided the nation and still inspires radically diverse schools of thought.
There will be a number of original articles written by contemporary political thinkers, both for and against Secession. There will also be writings by political eyewitnesses including:
Jefferson Davis
Abraham Lincoln
Frederick Douglass
Karl Marx
Friedrich Engels
Civil War veterans
This special historical political theme will, of course, accompany the regular political news and analyses for today’s issues.
The Political Spectrum is dedicated to giving you BALANCED politics, and the only way to do so is to present EVERYONE’s side of the story.
