The National Defense Authorization Act
The Senate voted this week on an amendment to the National Defense
Authorization Act (NDAA), which would require a report on military
planning for a no-fly zone over Syria. Congress should not be
encouraging the military toward another conflict in the Middle East or
to require the military to disclose its detailed war plans. There are
many unknowns that we need to be asking before we involve our nation in a
civil war in Syria.
Moments before the vote, I took to the Senate floor to speak out against the amendment. Click HERE or below to watch a video of my floor speech.
Despite my arguments against this amendment, it passed 92-6.
