Texans Prefer Paul Over Perry

It’s typically a good rule of thumb to judge candidates by those who know them best. For presidential candidates Ron Paul and Rick Perry, that would be Texas. Reports The State:

“Texas Rep. Ron Paul is well ahead of Texas governor Rick Perry, according to the latest poll. A poll conducted by Azimuth Research Group finds Mr. Paul leading Mr. Perry in their home state of Texas.

Answering the question, ‘If the Texas Republican primary were held today, which presidential candidate would you be most likely to vote for?’ 22 percent of those polled selected Mr. Paul. Just 17 percent of respondents voted in favor of Mr. Perry.

The poll comes just days after Mr. Perry announced his intention to seek the Republican presidential nomination.”
