For Ron Paul and his supporters to go.
Watch the first two minutes of this January interview with The Weekly
Standard’s Bill Kristol:
Too bad, Bill. We’re staying.
And we’re winning.
Perhaps just as important, the
neoconservatives are losing. For the last three years, polls have consistently
shown that Americans are sick of perpetual war and many now fear an
ever-growing police state under the guise of “national security.” Nobody wants
the federal government tapping our phones and drones tracking us in our own
backyards. The type of authoritarian Republicanism of Bush/Cheney
characteristic of neoconservatives is less popular now than ever.
In fact, President Obama has
out-neoconned Bush on so many levels that I could easily see Kristol and his
friends going back to the Democratic Party from whence they came.
Like the Christian Right a quarter
century ago, the Republican Party is ours for the taking. And slowly but
surely, we’re taking it–whether our enemies like it or not.
